Topics to be covered:
· Causes of inattention, distractibility, and difficulty sustaining focus
· Strategies for improving focus at school
· Working with your child's teacher on a plan to help improve focus
· Strategies for improving focus during homework and decreasing homework conflicts
· Strategies for improving focus for completing daily routines
Information Session on the Wake County Magnet School Program (emphasis on middle school magnet programs)
This session is designed more for 5th grade parents considering a magnet school and 4th grade parents who are thinking about middle school options.

General information and guidelines for enrolling your child into a magnet school program (with emphasis on middle school magnet programs). Mrs. Anderson will also discuss new policy changes and how they will affect magnet schools.
