Mrs. Williams has been teaching middle school band since 2002 when she came
to River Road Middle School. She began her teaching career here in Elizabeth
City after earning her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the
University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She most recently completed her
Master's Degree in Music Education in December 2007. In addition to
performing locally on her flute, Mrs. Williams and her husband also sing
Christian music at area churches. She is also the choir director at Salem
Baptist Church in Weeksville, NC.
Mrs. Williams also works closely with the Albemarle Band Clinic where she has
served as the Middle School Chairperson and the Vice-President.
My mission for the band students at River Road Middle School is to help them
become the best musicians they can be. I also hope to prepare them for music
and band at the high school level. It is my mission that their musical
development will not stop when they leave middle school. I also strive to
produce the best musical experiences and performances possible. I set high
standards for my students and expect them to meet those standards.
