About The Teacher

Greetings fellow scientist! I am a local eastern NC farm girl who grew up
in Lenoir County. After graduating from North Lenoir High School, I
attended Peace College in Raleigh, NC. At Peace College I received an AA
degree and transferred to ECU. While at ECU I received a BS and MAEd degree
in math and science education. In 2001 I became Nationally Board Certified
in science, and in 2010 I successfully renewed my National Boards
Certification.

I am a lifelong learner and always seek out workshops and conferences to
learn new techniques in science education. In 2003 I served on the state
board for the North Carolina Science Teachers Association as President.
Currently I am the secretary for the North Carolina Science Teachers
Association.

My recent quest is to gain my EE Certification (Environmental Education).
This does not gain me a pay raise, BUT I gain current up to date information
about the Earth and our environment. At this time I am helping out with
Science Olympiad and with the FRC First Robotics team as well as the head
Envirothon Coach.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at school or by
email.

Mission For The Class

The mission for all my classes is to be prepared scientist who will seek out
possible careers and success in science.
