Week of May 29-June 1, 2012

Last week was full of special events for us.  First of all, thanks to 3B's AMAZING parents who went to Old Salem with us.  Mrs. Barwick, Mrs. Fijalkowski, Mrs. Pallander, Mrs. Schreder, Mrs. Terry, and Mrs. Tully did a fantastic job chaperoning and leading their groups.  It was a perfect day, and everything went extremely well.  The students learned a lot, enjoyed shopping, and eating the yummy food from the bakery.

Field Day was another exciting event last week, and again, 3B parents were SUPER!  Thanks to Mrs. Long, and Mrs. Norvell for escorting the groups to their stations, and helping the kids have a fun and safe Field Day.  Also thanks to other parents who worked at the stations, including Mrs. Barwick who volunteered two days in a row.  The kids had another great day.  I believe they were all totally exhausted from our adventures by the end of the week.

Can you believe that there are only seven days left in the school year?  What a great year it has been.  However, we do have a few things to finish up this week since last week, we didn't really accomplish much school work. Our final Math test is scheduled for Thursday, and our Grammar test on pronouns will be Wednesday.  We will not have a science test on our Plants unit, but will use the worksheets and classwork for that unit's grade.

Most students have made their AR goal for this quarter, but the final day for tests to count will be this Friday,
June 1st.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. Email or written notes are generally the best form of communication. Together we can make third grade a great school year for everyone.
