Classroom Policies

Welcome back to school! I am very excited to be working with the wonderful
staff and students at SRCS. Below I have summarized a few classroom
policies. Please read through them with your child and then return the bottom
portion with both signatures. I look forward to a successful and enriched
year. Go Guardians!
Grading: Each quarter grade will be calculated by the following criteria.
50% Tests/Projects
30% Quizzes/Graded Classroom Assignments
20% Homework
Homework: Expect math homework to be assigned each day. Homework will be
given credit based upon completion. Incomplete work may be turned in the
following school day at ½ credit. Students start each quarter with 100% for
the homework portion of their grade. Each missed assignment will deduct 2
points from that score. All assignments, quizzes, tests and projects will be
posted in the classroom and on my class web-page. Students are responsible
for recording each day’s work. Any project/take home assignment turned in
late will have 15 points deducted per day until turned in.
Tests/Quizzes: Students are required to correct all graded work
(tests/quizzes) on a separate sheet of paper and get them signed by a parent
within 2 days of receiving the paper. Corrections/signature will count as a
homework assignment.
Bonus Work: Typically each week 2 bonus worksheets are available. Points
given range between 1 to 3. Students have one week to complete
(independently) and turn in the work. The points may be added to any quiz
grade taken in the current quarter. A grade may not increase more than one
letter grade and each quiz may not be changed more than once.
Additional Resources: Students will receive a user name/password to access
the online companion to our textbook series. This includes an online text,
practice lessons and tutorials. I will offer after school tutorials to
students that need the additional support. Also, remediation will be
available during lunch/recess on a day to day basis. Please let me know
asap, if your child needs any additional help.
