I am very thrilled to be beginning my fourth year at SRCS as a fifth
grade teacher. This is also my 6th year with the Diocese of Raleigh as I
taught for two years at Immaculata Catholic School in Durham prior to coming
to St Raphaels. Ten and eleven year olds are some of my favorite people, and
I feel blessed to be returning for the start of another school year.
This year will be a time of transition for me personally as my oldest
daughter, Hannah, will be leaving home to begin her college career at
Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. My nest won't be
empty though as my younger daughter, Natalie, will be a sophomore at
Wakefield High School. We also have a very energetic two year old dog named
Rosie and a very lazy bunny, Poppy.
My husband and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary this
December, and we are looking forward to many more years together. In our
free time together, we enjoy getting out to the movies and enjoying dinner
out.
I am looking forward to getting to know my new group of fifth graders
this year, and I am eager to work with them and their families.
The mission for the students in 5B this year is to grow
academically, spiritually, and socially. The students will be challenged to
make decisions that demonstrate an understanding of the responsibilities we
have based on our Catholic faith. Students will be given the tools they
need in order to become independent learners. I will provide the students
with learning opportunities that will prepare them for their transition to
middle school.
