This is my 14th year teaching 3rd grade at Weatherstone. I am currently a
National Board Certified Teacher in middle childhood development. I am a
graduate of Meredith College and I am a huge NC State fan. GO WOLF PACK! My
husband is in sales with Performance Food Group. He is always traveling. My
husband loves the Wolfpack too but Michigan and the Detroit Lions are his
true loves!
I have two amazing children. Mary West just turned 6 and she loves to read,
swims on WAVES, and spend time with her family. She is in Ms. Whistle's
first grade class. Reid is 4 years old and loves trains, pirates, and
cowboys. He goes to The Grove School for full day preschool. I love my
family very much so you will probably hear a lot about them this year.
Communication: I feel it is important for the teacher and parents to work
together to provide the best possible school experience for the student.
This website is always available (with homework posted and monthly activities
and due dates) as well as student daily agendas. There should be
no "surprises" with these two forms of communication. The best way to contact
me is through email: hstrengholt@wcpss.net
Homework: OTIS and homework Agendas SHOULD be taken home each day with your
child (NOT WEEKENDS). The students are responsible for writing their homework
down each day as well as collecting their homework to take home and complete.
I require a parent to sign the agenda each night so I know you are aware of
homework, upcoming projects, and events.
Tuesday Folder: You will receive a folder every Tuesday that contains
important school wide information, work samples, and PTA information. Review
the items and keep them at home but return the folder to school.
Calculator Policy: Your child will be issued a TI-15 calculator and will be
kept in your child’s desk for the remainder of the year. If your child
misplaces the calculator, the cost will be $16 to replace it.
