Dear Parents and Students,
We continue our study on colonial history. During reading, students
have been reading about Native American and Colonists who played an important
role in the early formation of our colonies. Students are extending this
study of colonial and Native American figures with a biography research
project on famous Americans. They will complete the project during time at
school. This is not a project to be completed at home. Students will be
given time each week to work on the project. We will also take a field trip
to Tryon Palace in early December to reinforce colonial life.
Students have an early release day on Wednesday due to the Thanksgiving
holiday on Thursday. Students should keep up with their reading and fact
memorization over the long weekend, if possible. Academic progress reports
will be coming out soon.
**IMPORTANT: Please check spelling journals and math workbooks periodically
to ensure your child is meeting success in these areas, as well. Some
students are not performing well in these two areas of homework.
