Reading:
During the month of April we will continue studying about Spring, Life Cycles and Simple Machines. This month students will read the stories; Tippy-Toe Chick, Go!, Mole and the Baby Bird, Dot & Jabber, and Simple Machines.
Students will start Unit 6, Measurement and Unit 11, Counting Hundreds
Themes:
Spring, Easter, Simple Machines
Students will write about a Bunny Tale. While continuing life cycles students will have the opportunity to see chicks hatch in the second grade class. while learning about simple machines, students will make their own simple machine.
Some special projects we will do this month are:
* Jelly Bean Math
*Confetti Eggs
*Easter Bunny Baskets
*Egg Hunt
Items we will need for these projects are:
Bags of Jelly Beans
Eater candy and small toys to fill plastic eggs and treat bags
Easter candy and snacks for Special Snack with Egg Hunt
If you can send in any of these items please let me know.
April 24th PTO Program At 7pm: Global Awareness; Cinderella in Africa, all students will participate.
Notes from the Teacher: I want to say a big thank you to all of the parents for helping our class with the many projects we do to try and make learning fun for your child.
Please note that any unfinished class work will be sent home as homework. This will need to be completed and turned in the next day. Students that use their time wisely in class should be able to finish all class work before leaving school.
