Will my child have homework in Kindergarten?

Yes, homework is given to practice the skills being taught.  A daily folder 
will be provided with resource materials and a reading log.  All 
communications/homework log/behavior chart will be placed in the folder to be 
signed & returned the next day.

What can I do to help my child?

Read with them everyday!!!!!!  Use your enviromental print to encourage 
reading.  Speak in complete sentences to support oral language development.  
Limit the TV time.

If my child has difficulty with their work what should I do?

If you begin to see a pattern, discuss it with the teacher so that the two of 
you can determine what needs to be done.

When will my child go to the library?

We visit the media center every Tuesday.  Book Mobile books are also 
checked out weekly.  Reading packets are sent home and returned when read.  
They will be sent again when returned. Classroom books may be checked out on 
request.  Guided Reading bag books are also sent home, please sign the card 
and return the bag the next day.

What should I do if my child has to miss school?

Check with the teacher concerning any makeup work.  Send a note as soon as 
the child returns in order for the absence to be excused.

Can I visit my child at school?

YES!  We welcome classroom volunteers just remember to sign in at the front 
office and pick up a visitor's sticker.

What should I do if transportation arrangements need to be changed?

If your child needs to ride another bus different than the one they normally 
ride, you need to send a note stating what bus and when.  If someone other 
than yourself or who you have designated to pick your child up needs to do so 
then you need to send a note giving that person permission.

Will my child need a snack?

Yes, we have a snack break each day.  You may pack one from home, or you may 
send $1.00 perday for a drink and snack.

Do parents get to go on Field Trips?

When possible parents are allowed to participate.

What if my child needs to take medicine at school?

A "Request for Medication to be Given During School Hours" form needs to be 
completed by your doctor.  You may obtain one from the school/teacher
