Parent Homework Info

Homework Reminders:

*Homework is given only on Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday nights. It will be
placed in your child's daily folder to be completed that night and returned
the next day. It is given to provide practice & reinforce the skills
taught. It also helps to develop responsibility.
*Library books are due each Monday(You must bring one back to get another)
*Please sign the homework/achievement chart each night and return
it in the folder provided with the completed homework.
*Reading homework is a daily activity. Remember to record all books read on
the reading log in your child's folder. Reading with your child will help
them become better readers! This is one of the most important things you
can do to help improve your child's reading skills! Let your child retell
the story back to you and ask them questions to help develop their
comprehension skills. Discuss the vocabulary or any unknown words in the
story.
*Please continue to practice bus/lunch numbers, ABC recognition, number
recognition 0-10, and writing first name.
*Mini-books are being sent home for you to read and enjoy with your child.
These books are yours to keep; you can record them on the reading log too!
*Guided reading books will be sent home and should be returned in the
Ziploc with the signed card after your child has read the book with you.
*Writing journals should be returned each day-please do not write for your
child but let them write or draw their own thoughts. :)

If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to check
on your child's progress please feel free to email, send me a note, or you
may call me after 3 PM at 653-3791. Thanks for your continued support of
our enducational endeavors! We appreciate all you do!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Barkley and Ms. Lewis
