Maintaining a safe environment that is conducive to learning and free of
unnecessary distractions, is a top priority at Heritage Middle School.

Please review the following with your child:

NO SAGGING PANTS ARE ALLOWED at any time!

THE WAY AROUND THEIR GARMENT, TO BE IN COMPLIANCE.

MATERIAL UNSUITABLE FOR A MIDDLE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT MUST NOT BE WORN.

Our current focus needs to be on our 8th graders successfully completing
their EOGs and their 8th grade year. Please help us maintain a school
atmosphere where these goals are the priority. Policing for dress code
compliance at school takes up valuable time. Thanks for supporting our
goals!

WEBSITE

Due to the end of the year, this will be the last week we update our
websites. If you have any questions, please e-mail us directly.

NEW POLICY

Due to theft taking place in the school, our administration has decided to
have girls place their purses in their lockers. They can pick them up if
they need them before they go to the bathroom, and return them afterwards.
Since purses were many of the items stolen, this should help eliminate this
problem.

As far as jackets, the students are allowed to wear hoodies, sweatshirts, or
sweaters, but no jackets with a lining. This is because some students
bring big heavy jackets into the classroom, and they can be distracting and
take up a lot of room. Also, students may have things in them that do not
belong in the classroom.

UPDATED INFORMATION

Please make sure we have a list of any updated information we may need for
our records. Please share this information with other Panther parents if
they are not on our e-mail list.

INDIVIDUAL TEACHER WEBSITES

Check the individual core subject pages for updates on class tests, projects,
quizzes, and etc.

AGENDAS

Students should write all of their assignments down in their agendas. Each
core class places their homework assignments on the board. The students are
responsible for updating their agendas daily. Please check your child's
agenda daily for homework assignments or to see what assignments or projects
are upcoming.

TUTORING

Any student that needs tutoring in language arts, must inform Mrs. Ethridge
at least 24 hours in advance. She is available only on Tuesdays from 3:30-
4:30 (unless something comes up). Students must have a written note or a
received e-mail from their parent/guardian at least 24 hours in advance for
tutoring. Please see Mrs. Ethridge or contact her for more details.

ABSENCES

If your son/daughter is out sick, please send a note to school upon their
return. Assignments are placed in each classroom for make-up work while the
student was out.
