Spanish - Grade 8

Planes para el grado 8

Lunes, el 20 de agosto (2007-2008`) (10:40 – 11:20)

 

1.  Opening Prayer: Padre Nuestro

 

2.  Activities:

            a.  Greet students as they enter the room, hand them a notecard – Students

                 write their name, how old they are, and the name of a Spanish/Mexican

                 food they like. (Greeting - 3 pts/ Notecard – 3 pts.)

 

            b.  Students talk to 5 people and write the persons name, age, and the food

                 they like.  

a.  Go over questions and answers in Spanish.

b.  Brainstorm foods. 

c.  Show how to mark answers (in columns) (nombre – edad – comida)  (5 pts for written information for each person – 5 pts for conversation and use of Spanish – 5 pts for listening) (Greeting card and notecard are handed in when leaving room.)

 

          c.  Student conversation – When students finish conversation, they pick up

               copy of cognates and do first part.  (Part 1 is 3 pts) (24 pts.)

 

          d.  Check answers for first section of cognate paper.  Second section is extra

               credit – back side is assignment.  While students are working on

               assignment, pass out books.  (3 pts – written)  (27) (assignment – 5 pts)

               (Extra credit – 4 pts)

 

           e.   Introduce foods (Powerpoint) (write foods in notebook) (5 pts) (32 pt)

 

      f.  If time, review numbers and play “Más o menos.” (3 pts) (35 pts)

 

  1. Visuals:  greeting assessment card; notecard; cognate (“tion” sheet); Powerpoint – foods
