Getting Started on Your Project:3rd Qtr.

Adobe Photoshop Elements
1. Log on to your computer using your username and password.
2. In the Applications folder, click on Adobe Photoshop Elements (camera icon).
3. Choose from the dark blue or bright green activity cards in the box.
4. You can view tutorials at http://www.atomiclearning.com/k12/photoshop_elements_4_mac
4. When you are familiar with the toolbar, you may move on to the other activity cards in the box.
5. Save the photos to your Documents folder.

Animation Studio
1. Log on to your computer using your username and password.
2. In the Applications folder, click on Share.
3. Pick up the Animation Studio binder on the table to get started on the tutorial.
4. Check out this student project to see an example of an original animation!
5. Go to http://www.tech4learning.com/frames/clay for more ideas to start your own animation story.

Concert Tour Entrepreneur
1. You will need to open Windows on your computer.
2. Go to Start --> Programs --> Concert Tour Entrepreneur
3. Pick up the Concert Tour binder on the table to get started.

Garage Band Basics
1. Log on to your computer using your username and password.
2. In the Applications folder, click on Garage Band (guitar icon).
3. Go to http://teacherweb.com/NE/SchuylerGradeWW/DPrescott/sd3l6.aspx to watch tutorials
4. Choose Activity 1 to get started. You will complete each activity below this week:
     a) Activity 1: Creating a Rhythm Section
     b) Activity 2: Adding a Horn Section
     c) Activity 3: Playing a Software Instrument
     d) Activity 4: Creating a Mix
5. Save your files to your Documents folder.

Hot Dog Stand
1. You will need to open Windows on your computer.
2. Go to Start --> Programs --> Hot Dog Stand
3. Pick up the Hot Dog Stand Quick Start sheet on the table to get started.

iMovie
1. Log on to your computer using flip as username and password.
2. In the Applications folder, click on iMovie.
3. Click on the "iMovie Getting Started" page to view tutorials.
4. You will need to load the clips from the CD to import into your project. Ask Mrs. Prescott if you need help.
5. Save your work to your Documents folder.

Is It Worth It?
1. Log on to your computer using your username and password.
2. Pick up the "Is It Worth It?" handout on the table to get started.
3. When you have finished shopping and have your spreadsheet done, you will need to create a poster comparing three similar items and their prices from the three different stores. Ask Mrs. Prescott for examples.

Prescott's Café
1. Set up your Excel spreadsheet using the example provided.
2. Save to your Documents folder as  cafe.xls
3. Go to the Prescott's Café  page to start your game.
4. You will record results for ten days in your spreadsheet.
5. After you are finished, use PowerPoint to create the following on three slides:
      -a logo design for your café
      -an advertising poster with your logo
      -a food and drink menu (don't forget to include your logo!)

Roller Coaster Physics
1. Complete the worksheet "The Science of Roller Coasters" using the links on the Roller Coaster Physics page.
2. View the Roller Coaster Physics DVD.
3. Complete the DVD questions packet as you watch the DVD.
4. Tell Mrs. Prescott that you are ready to correct your worksheet and packet.
5. When done correcting your work, turn the packet in (be sure your names are on it).
6. On your own computer, open the No Limits folder to start the roller coaster simulator. Have fun! :) 
7. Now try the No Limits Editor to design your own ride.

Share 
1. Log on to your computer using your username and password.
2. In the Applications folder, click on Share.
3. Pick up the Share binder on the table to get started on the tutorial.
4. You can view other Computer Literacy students' Share projects here.
4. When you finish the tutorial, go to http://www.tech4learning.com/share/samples for ideas to start your own.   

Tricky Pics
1. As a group, look through the ideas book to jump start your ideas for your pictures. Also look through examples of other students' work.
2. Pick up a Tricky Pics group planning sheet on  the table.
3. Brainstorm and sketch out your group's plans.
4. Discuss your completed planning sheet with Mrs. Prescott.
5. You will begin taking pictures on Day 2 of your project.
