PARKING LOT SAFETY REMINDERS:

As we are now getting settled in to a new school year, I wanted to remind you of our parking lot safety procedures that we need to follow in the mornings and after school when dropping off and picking up your kids. It is stated in our elementary handbook “Drivers must observe the one-way and bus loading signs. If you are coming into the building when you are dropping off or picking up students, please use the parking spaces and do not park along the curb in front of the building. The
curb area is for immediate loading and unloading only.” Also, when unloading or loading students alongside the curb, if buses are present, please do not park where the buses stop and please do not stop in the crosswalk. We also ask all parents and kids who are parking to come into the building to use the sidewalk between the two parking areas and use the
crosswalk to cross the parking lot. Please do not cut across the parking lot in between cars. Thank you for helping promote an environment where safety comes first!

ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCES

The school day begins at 8:05 a.m. with dismissal at 3:20 p.m. If your child is going to be absent or late, we request that you call the school office at 625-2141. This will assist us in knowing the whereabouts of each student. The school will call you at home and/or work if we do not receive any notice from a parent. If your child is late for school, they will need to stop by the office to pick up a tardy slip.

VISITS TO SCHOOL

We always welcome parents to visit the school. We do require that all visitors must first check in at the office when entering the building before, during and after school. For the safety of the children, all visitors are required to wear an assigned name badge while in the building. They are available along with a sign‐in sheet in the office.

CHIEFTAIN CHATTER

Our weekly newsletter is sent home to each family each Friday in your student’s Friday Envelope. Please take a minute or two to look over the events taking place at the elementary and in the district. For your convenience, our weekly newsletter is also available online through our elementary website.
