HOMEWORK HAVEN HELP AVAILABLE
The tutoring service provided by BayNet has begun here at Matthew. Two
capable high school students (under adult supervision) will be here each
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday from 2:45 until 4:45 to tutor/assist with
completing assignments and projects, etc.
While the grade five teachers will be providing regular tutorials,
particularly in Math, it is our intent to recommend students to use this
service as we want to keep our groups quite small in order for them to be
most effective. So we will be recommending that students avail of Homework
Haven to support their learning.
This doesn't mean they have to stay until 4:45 everyday. It might be a
shorter period for different reasons/courses on different days.
If you have any questions about this program, please feel free to call.

Commenting Welcome!
Please drop in and read some of the blogs your child has written. Underneath
each posting is a comment section where you can leave a little note. Where it
says 'name required' you can just say so-and-so's dad/mom/nan/pop!
The comment will come to me first...just like those of the students
do...before it can be read by the students.
I had a parent ask me last year if I would 'fix' anything that needed fixing
before letting the children read the comments. I offer the same private
service this year : )
You can share the link to the Kidblog site with family and friends who would
like to visit, too.
I am sure other students would be thrilled if you replied to something they
wrote too! If you share an interest or had a similar experience, then feel
free to comment and perhaps carry on a little conversation. Receiving
feedback on what is written is VERY motivating for our bloggers!
Any questions... call, or just drop me a comment on one of my posts! : )

Please keep in mind determining your child's performance with much of our
Math curriculum is ongoing; hence there was no need for several of the
outcomes to be included in this piece of assessment.
If your child can show me that the skill or concept is understood when I am
next to their table, then that is sufficient and 'testing' them again is
unnecessary! : )
