New info: 10/2008 Red Ribbon week is next week! Oct. 27-31st. This is a week of activities that

Tuesday 10/28 - Drugs Are Unbearable (bring a stuffed animal to school)
Wed 10/29 - Reach for the stars (sudents and staff will sign a star as a pledge to be drug free.
Stars will be hung in the gym)
Thursday 10/30 - Wear Red Day (wear red, bring a red snack)
Friday - 10/31 - Say Boo To Drugs (halloween parade).
The 5th graders will help with the daily drug free pledge, they will sing a song at the kick off
assembly on Monday morning and on Friday will read from a list of "fun things to do."
PARENTS PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS: If you would like to chaperon field trips,
you must be fingerprinted. Detailed information can be found on the SAU website.
Good Behavior awards are earned each week. Students earn a good behavior award by
demonstrating great behavior for the entire school week. Classroom behavior, bus behavior,
hallway, bathroom, etc. behavior is monitored closely. Each quarter there is a special good behavior
activity offered to those students who don't lose more than 2 awards each quarter (3 strikes= they
aren't invited). So watch for your child's award!!
The first Good Behavior activity is face painting. Art students from ARD come over to the do the
face painting for us. The second activity is an ice cream social. The third is bowling at Boutwell's
Bowling Alley. Our end of year Good Behavior Activity will be the water slide. All students will get to
use the water slide during the field day activities, however students who earned enough Good
Behavior awards will be invited out again after the completion of Field Day activities.
Please know that students need to be present for at least 1/2 of the marking period in order to
earn the Good Behavior Activity. In a 10 week quarter, the student needs to be enrolled for 5 of
those weeks. This can affect new students entering our school. It is important to realize that not
being able to participate in the Good Behavior Activity is not a punishment. Participation in the Good
Behavior activities is earned by collecting the weekly good behavior awards.
