Hi, and thanks for visiting the AES Music Room TeacherWeb page. My name is Pam Stohrer, and I'm in
my third year here at AES. Before coming to Allenstown, I taught K-6 general music in Chester, and
before that, I taught for 14 years in Auburn as the K-8 Music Teacher, as well as being the Chorus and
Drama Director. I live in the Mondanock region in an old, old house that my husband and I are
restoring. We have a daughter who is an architect in NYC. When I'm not teaching music, I like to be
outside, kayaking or fishing or hiking or skating or gardening, or just lying down and reading.
I think that the music room is a place to learn about a lot of things besides music! Students are
exposed to foreign languages, history, geography, literature and math while learning new songs. And in
the fourth grade, when students learn to play the recorder, they are also learning the value of practice
and dedication, as well as performance skills when they're onstage.I consider it my mission to expose
students to as many styles of music as possible, and to help them feel comfortable singing, playing and
composing. We are always laughing in the AES Music Room.
