Word Bank Words

In our class we have a word wall where we hang words that are most important
for the children to be able to recognize, read, and write. They are words
that are used most frequently in communicating with others. Most weeks we
will introduce some new words to add to our wall. It would be helpful if you
could practice these words at home with your child as often as possible.
Some suggestions for practicing the words are:
-make up some flash cards and spend two minutes reviewing the words
-have your child write the words once or twice(if you get brave, have them
write the word in shaving cream.. or use magnetic letters and have them
practice on the refrigerator)
-chant and say the word (point and chant to each letter, then say the word)
-pick out the words in books you read with your child

We will spend a lot of time doing these activities in school, and if they are
reinforced at home, you will find the kids will start to use these words in
their writing and recognize them in print more quickly.

THESE ARE THE WORDS WE HAVE LEARNED SO FAR. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
