Hello! I am looking forward to getting to know each child in the third grade, therefore children and
families might like to know a little about my life. I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from
Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master's degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado in
Elementary Education. In my previous life, I worked as a graphic designer and a commercial printing
sales representative. One day, I woke up and realized that I didn't like my job. I had family and
friends who were teachers and noticed how much they loved their job. It was more than a job, it was
a lifestyle. So, I decided to go back to school and change my career. I made the perfect decision.
In Colorado, I taught for four years at a little school where the students' native language was Spanish.
I loved the students, school, coworkers, and environment. My husband and I moved back from
Colorado last August to be closer to family and enjoy beautiful New Hampshire. Last year was
my first year at Greenland Central School, and I thoroughly enjoy working here.
When I am not at school, I spend time with my family and friends hiking, kayaking, camping, and
snowboarding. I have a new puppy named Stella that takes up a lot of my time. She is a labradoodle
and looks like a troll doll. I love to read historical fiction novels because I can connect with a
character's life while I am learning about a piece of history. I also spend time drawing and designing
on the computer as well as listening to live music.
My philosophy
As just a small part of my students’ long life, I have some big responsibilities. My most important
responsibility is to educate each child, at their level, and make as many gains as possible. Learning
happens only in an environment of people who are respectful, responsible, caring, and safe. With
time, I will come to know each child and help that child become a life-long, independent learner.
Together, we will celebrate strengths and help each other overcome obstacles. Most of all, we will
have fun learning!
