How do I join NHS if I am interested?

First, you must be invited in the spring of your sophomore year.
All juniors and sophomores with a 3.15 GPA are invited in the
spring to apply. Once invited, you must complete an application
(available on this site). Once complete, the application is
reviewed by the Faculty Council. If selected, you are invited to
participate in our annual Induction Ceremony to become a full
member for life.

How can I lose my NHS membership?

NHS membership is for life, as long as you live up to the four
standards of membership. However, if your GPA falls below our
scholarship standard, you are placed on probation for one
quarter. If you raise your grade in that time, you are restored
to full membership. If not, you will lose your membership
permanently. Other conditions that could result in you losing
your membership include poor character decisions, not
participating in mandatory service activities or not attending
chapter meetings regularly. All non-scholarship reasons are
brought before the Faculty Council to decide, and may result in a
probationary period to correct the infraction, or may result in
immediate dismissal. All decisions may be appealed.
