Carol Hulick: Special
Education Facilitator
I oversee all of the special
education students of New Boston, from early intervention (age 2 1/2) to high
school graduation or age 21 (whichever comes first). Before this position, I
was a special education teacher at New Boston Central School for ten years. I
have also worked at NBCS as a special education assistant and as a parent
volunteer.
My background includes an
undergraduate degree in Geology, with a minor in math, and 5 years as a
computer programmer (back in the stone age of computers.) I have a Masters in
Education, specialization in Special Education, from Plymouth State
University, and am also certified in Learning Disabilities. Currently I am
working towards my Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Special
Education Administration.
I have four children. Three are
out of college and one is in college. All
of them went through the New Boston and Goffstown public schools.
I also have three
grandsons! I have lived in New Boston for over 20 years.

Heather Bennett : Special
Education Teacher
This is my fifth year at New
Boston Central School. I have lived in New Hampshire for most of my life. I
grew up in Hillsboro and Washington, and then moved to Keene for college. Now
I live in Concord. I graduated from Keene State College with degrees in
education (elementary and special education certifications) and sociology. I
am now a special educator at NBCS, working with students in grades 2, 3, 4
and 6. I am very excited to be a part of the wonderful NBCS community.

Karen Jones: Special
Education Teacher
My
name is Karen Jones and I was ecstatic to join this particular team of
dedicated and talented professionals two years ago. My background includes
ten years experience working with children, adolescents and families in mental
health settings, and three years as a preschool teacher in Amherst. In
addition, I worked for 3 years as a NBCS paraprofessional, during which time I
grew to know that Special Education was the place for me! The skills that
I've acquired in all arenas have dovetailed nicely as a Special Education
teacher and case manager. This year I am excited to be working again with the
3rd and 4thb grades.
When
not at work, I can be found hanging out with my family. My daughter is now a
junior at GHS (egads!) and my son is an 8th grader at Mountain View. They are
my pride and joy and keep me charged up for this very busy job!
During
the 2012-2013 school year, I look forward to sharing my belief with my
students that learning is fun!
