Homework: Northwest has developed a new, school wide homework policy. Please read about the rational and development of this policy in your child’s Northwest Elementary Home School Communication Notebook.

This book has three purposes:

·        To provide math, reading and writing  reference information

·        To have a place to record reading responses

·        To have a place for communication between teachers and parents

 

There is also a red folder for homework and notices, all other assignments will be handed in on Wednesdays.

 

Procedure: Every Thursday, students will bring home the Communication Binder with the following week’s homework and any notices. Daily math homework should be returned in this binder. Any other homework should be returned on Wednesday in the homework folder. Students will record their behavior color on the calendar every day. The calendar in the Communication Notebook should be signed by a parent every day and returned to school. I will check for a signature along with math homework every morning. The lined paper is for us to communicate by writing notes back and forth. Please write any notes about absences and dismissal on separate paper, as these need to be sent to the office. Every Wednesday I will collect the spiral notebook to grade reading responses. 
Reminders:

·        Return the Northwest Elementary Home School Communication Notebook every day after you have read and signed your child’s behavior color.

·        Look for the following week’s homework and notices every Thursday.

·        Use the red folder to return math homework, dismissal notices, etc… daily.
