NECAP testing is here! We will be testing Tuesday, October 6 - Thursday,
October 8. Please make sure your children get a good night's sleep and have a
good breakfast! Our snack and lunch schedule will be later than usual, so
please make sure you bring a good, healthy snack!
Our reading incentive program for the year has begun! This year the children
will be participating in the BOOK IT! Program. The mission of the BOOK IT!
Program is to encourage more reading inside and outside of the classroom. The
program is easy and fun! Your child has the opportunity to earn Reading Award
Certificates by meeting monthly reading goals that we will set. The Reading
Award Certificates can be redeemed at Pizza Hut where your child will receive
a BOOK IT! award and a free, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza. Our goal this
month is 200 minutes! All you need to do is keep track of your child's daily
reading on the blank calendar that went home with your child. At the end of
the month add up the total amount of minutes read, initial the calendar
yourself, and send it in with your child at the end of the month! If your
child returns an initialed calendar that indicates he or she has met the goal
for the month, your child will receive a certificate from me to use at Pizza

Good News!! Our textbooks are now online! Your child has been given a letter
explaining how to access these books at www.pearsonsuccessnet.com. Your child
has a username and password that will allow them to access these books and the
resources that go along with them. You can now explore your textbooks at home
without having to bring them home! This will make reviewing material for
tests, and previewing upcoming material to prepare ahead of time much easier!
There are practice tests available, and games to review concepts. There are
even audio recordings of some of the material that you can listen to! Please
note, however, that the full selection of the week in reading is not available
online. There is a summary, however the complete selection is unavailable.
