water cycle- the never-ending movement of water from the Earth's surface to
the atmosphere and back again
condensation- the process of water vapor becoming liquid water when it cools
evaporation- the process of changing liquid water to water vapor(gas)
precipitation- any form of water that falls to Earth
air pressure- the pushing force of air
air mass- a huge body of air that has nearly the same temperature and humidity
humidity - the amount of water vapor in the air
front - the area where two air masses meet or collide: (warm, cold, and
stationary fronts)
meteorologist- scientists that study weather conditions
anemometer- a tool that measures wind speed
barometer- a device that measures air pressure
wind vane- shows the direction from which the wind is blowing
rain gauge- a device used to measure the amount of rainfall
hygrometer - a tool used to measure humidity
weather forecast - a prediction of what the weather will be like for the next
few days, based on measurements and weather data
