HAPPY NEW YEAR! Welcome 2010!
**Unit 4 will start in Math on January 4th. It is called "What's That Portion?". Students will be studying
fractions, decimals, and percents. If possible, talk with your child before Monday about about what they
already know. How are fractions, decimals, and percents alike? How are they different? Where do we
see and use them in real life?
**Nature Journal Special Evening has been rescheduled for Tuesday, 1/5. Don't forget your nature
photograph! :)
**Reading Test Wednesday, 1/13
**FYI SPRING CONFERENCES: Because I teach dance classes on Thursday afternoons and evenings, the
fifth grade will offer late day conferences on Wednesday 3/31 instead of Thursday 4/1. This is the
same change we made in November. Conference times will be available Wednesday after school,
Thursday after the early release dismissal, and Friday after the early release dismissal. Thank you for
your understanding and flexibility. As always, sign up sheets will be sent home.
