How do I become a member of PTA?
You can become a member at any time by contacting our membership
coordinator:
The cost is $5 per person to join. Membership includes special
offers and discounts at various locations.
I would love to help out, but I work and don't have a lot of time!
With PTA, you can help out as much (or as little) as you are
able! We appreciate any time you can give. Please contact our
volunteer coordinator Samantha Borbone at
samanthaborbone@comcast.net or Deanna to find out about available volunteer
opportunities.
To quote Edward Everett Hale " I am only one, but I am one. I
cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let
what I cannot do interfere with what I can do." ~
How often are PTA meetings held and what are the meetings for?
PTA holds meetings once a month on the first THURSDAY of each
month and generally last one hour.
These meetings are where monthly business is reported, programs
and events are organized and overall decisions are made.
PTA members, along with other members of the community attend
General Meetings. At these meetings, some PTA business is
conducted, but the majority of the time is spent on a topic that
will provide parents with information that is related to the
educational/ school/family experience of their children.
What does the PTA do with the money it raises?
The PTA uses the funds it raises for PTA sponsored events such as
the fall ice cream social, the holiday gift shop in December, and
the spring pancake breakfast. Additionally, funds are used to
support school events such as field trips, yearbooks, DARE t-shirts, artist in residence
visits, field day, grade level activities, PBIS, and desination
imagination. Finally, PTA also gives several awards including
fifth grade awards and the Whitney Turner Memorial Scholarship.
Can I bring my children to meetings?
Yes, we understand our families have busy schedules and may need
to occasionally bring their children along. We meet in the
libraries so they will be able to play or read quietly while you
attend the brief meeting.
