Homework

You will usually have math and spelling homework Monday through Thursday
nights. You may also have homework in other subjects such as Science, S.S.,
etc. Any unfinished classwork will also be considered homework unless Mrs.
Chase specifically say it's not.

Spelling homework will mainly consist of learning and practicing the assigned
spelling words each night to prepare for our weekly spelling test, writing
sentences using the spelling words, and ABC order. Below is the current
schedule for spelling homework.

MONDAY- ABC Order or reverse CBA Order in cursive
TUESDAY- Write a creative sentence for each of your spelling words. Be
sure to use poper capiatlization and punctuation.
WEDNESDAY- Any works spelled incorrectly on the pre-test (if we have one
during the week) will need to be written 5 times each. Other
Wednesday spelling assignments will be determined by Mrs. Chase.
THURSDAY- Study for Friday's SPELL CHECK

Math homework will consist of Everyday Math assignments as well as other
tasks which may include learning and practicing multiplication facts, etc.

I would also like you to read for at least 15 minutes 5 times a week. You
can keep track of your reading on your monthly reading calendar. Also be sure
to update your reading log for Smyth Road's Million Word Challenge!

Other homework will be on an as assigned basis.

**All homework is due the morning after it is assigned. This also includes
unfinished classwork. Any unfinished, forgotten (as in "I forgot my homework
on the kitchen table"), or misplaced work will be completed or redone during
your recess. NO EXCUSES!**
