Memo from Pre-K
September 30, 2011
Dear Parents,
Today your child is bringing home his/her binder to share with you. Please return it on or before Thursday, October 6.
A very special thank you to Mrs. Broketa, Mr. Behnken, Mrs. Cocozziello, Mrs. Flagg, Ms. Isabelle, Ms. Marquis, and Mr. Wilkinson, for driving and chaperoning for our trip last Friday to Gould Hill Apple Farm. The children enjoyed cutting the apples for applesauce and enjoyed eating it on Monday at lunchtime.
The Pre-K children will be attending the 9AM Mass on Tuesday, October 4, with the school community.
Now that the children are feeling more comfortable at arrival time, we are asking parents to leave their child at the door. We will be at the door to greet your child when he/she arrives.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Have a nice weekend!

Dear Parents,
Thank you for attending the "Back to School" night on Wednesday. We hope you enjoyed it and the information was helpful.
Today we are sending home blankets to be laundered. Please return them on the next school day.
In the Friday folder you will find the permission slip for our trip to Gould Hill Apple Farm on Friday, September 23. If you are able to drive/chaperone, please let us know. The cost for each child is $4.00. Each child will receive a one-peck bag of apples to bring home. Please return both the permission slip and the fee together. We are planning to eat lunch at the apple farm. If your child has hot lunch that day, we will make arrangements to bring it with us. If your child gets milk we will also take it with us. Please pack snack and lunch that day in a plastic or paper bag with your child's name on it. We do not want to take any lunchboxes on our trip. We will bring a cooler for the lunches and milk. If you are not chaperoning please leave your child's car seat with us on the morning of our trip.

Dear Parents,
The first week of school went very well. We are very proud of the children. We were told by the teachers that worked with them in Music, PE, Computer and Library classes this week that the children were very well behaved as well as attentive.
Thank you again for all the supplies and fees that were sent in for this school year and for labeling your child's belongings. It was very helpful.
Today your child received a “Friday” Folder. Every Friday, this folder will come home with a memo from us and a weekly calendar. We are asking you to sign your name on the line next to the corresponding date each week. Your signature verifies for us that you have received the information. Please return the folder on the next school day.
Wednesday, September 14, is “Back to School” night for parents. There will be two sessions. The first session is for Pre-K through Grade 3 parents. It begins at 6:15PM and continues until 7:00PM so the second session for Grades 4 through Grade 6 can begin at 7:00PM. We hope you will be able to attend.
Just a few reminders:
Please return your child's folder on the next school day.
Please sign your name on the Wednesday white envelope before it is returned to school. Please send a snack and a drink for your child each day. If your child is attending the after-school program, please send in extra one or two snacks for him/her.
We have scheduled our first field trip for our Pre-K children to the Apple Farm for Friday, September 23. If you are able to chaperone/drive for this trip, please let us know. Remember that all chaperones need to have attended a “Protecting God's Children” seminar. If you are interested in attending a seminar, please go to the Diocese of Manchester website. There is a list of dates and times for the seminar. There are two up and coming seminars- one on 9/13 at St. Matthew Parish in Windham and the other one is on 9/20 at St. Patrick Parish in Pelham from 7:00 to 9:00pm. If you are planning to attend, please register at each parish office. There is also information on the Diocese of Manchester website on how to complete the seminar online.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call the school, email us on the school website www.stcatherines.org or send in a note.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
Have an enjoyable weekend!
