Report Cards February 3, 2012
Mid Year Conference February 9, 2012
Honor Society applications due February 29, 2012
From July 24-30, 2011, the National Junior Classical League held its annual
convention at Eastern Kentucky University, honoring the 75th anniversary of
the organization. Making its inaugural visit was a delegation of students
from the Bayonne High School chapter. While there, students participated in
competitive certamen, academic and athletic competition, fellowship building,
and democratic elections—not to mention plenty of fun. In spite of some
rigorous competition, the Bayonne students were able to achieve to some
notable accomplishments. Despite these early successes, these students are
ardently preparing to attend next summer’s convention at Wake Forest
University for the opportunity to improve upon and add to their
accomplishments.
In addition, it is pleasing to report that both the teachers and students of
Ridgewood High School and Bayonne High School developed a camaraderie, which
they are actively and eagerly seeking to foster further. Students
interested in participating in future local, state, and national events are
always welcomed and encouraged to see Mr. Craig Jacobs at Bayonne High School.
Maximas gratias to the administrators and staff of the Bayonne Board of
Education, and to parents of the students for all of their aid and support in
making this a successful journey. Additional thanks is given to the
Classical Association of Atlantic States for its generous donation in helping
to fund part of the costs.
