Welcome to Kindergarten!
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS BELOW: PLEASE READ
*Sister Joan Marie's funeral mass is scheduled for this Thursday November
13th. School will be closed that day. I have spoken to the children about
losing a loved one and heaven briefly this week. Please speak to your child
about this as well and keep Sister Joan in your prayers. She will be missed.*
*Thanksgiving Feast! *There is a sign-up sheet for our feast on the FYI board
outside of the Kdg. classroom. Please sign-up for an item you'd like to
bring. We are still in need of HOT items. Also if you don't have time to sign-
up, please tell me or Mrs. Cosgrove and we'll put your name on the list!
Thanks! Our feast will be Wednesday November 26th at 11:00 a.m. in the
cafeteria.*
*We will be starting to learn two letters per week starting this week with Jj
and Kk. The children will be participating in various activities with that
letter. This week we glued Jellybeans to a jar and got to taste them! We will
be making kites tomorrow.*
*Children should have ALL school supplies in by now. If you have not brought
in school supplies yet, please send them in. Also, please label your child's
name on their lunchbox AND clothing. It is much easier to differentiate come
lunchtime/lost clothes! Just in case, there is a "Lost and Found" basket
below the desk in the foyer. (at rear entry of school building)*
*Keep practicing writing with your child. Also, help your child to
hold a pencil and crayon correctly in his/her hand. It is important for
children at this age to finely develop their fine motor skills to be able to
write more often in the coming months. We are also learning to count/recognize
numbers to 20. A suggestion - write numbers 1 to 20 on a blank piece of paper
and cut them up (to resemble flash cards). "Quiz" your child on each number.*
