                        Math Unit 11 Study Guide

Dear Parents,

          Please spend time looking over the work your child has completed in Unit 11 in the Student Journal and Home Links.

We will continue to finish the last few lessons over the next couple days please make sure your child returns the Student Journal Volume 2 daily to complete class work.

 

Unit 11 skills that are being assessed on the written assessment are:

·        Solve three-digit addition and subtraction problems.  This unit focused on using the trade-first subtraction method to subtract on p. 34 of MRB.   MRB pages 28-35

·        Compare fractions. Students may use their Fraction Cards. MRB pages 12-15.

·        Estimate the total cost of two items. Also, find the exact cost. MRB pages 92-94

·        Write fact families for multiplication and division fact triangles.  MRB pages 37-38

·        Draw arrays to model multiplication.

·        Solve a multiplication number story. MRB pages 112-115.

·        Solve an equal shares problem. MRB page 36 and pages 114-115.

o       For example, 20 cookies shared equally among 5 children. How many cookies does each child get? ____

 

The written assessment will be sent home after all second graders have completed it.  Please sign the test and return it to school on the following school day.
