Spelling (Words Their Way program) Students have been assessed on their spelling strengths and weaknesses. Lists have been developed to focus on specific spelling patterns. NOT ALL STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE THE SAME LIST Students will work during the week to identify the patterns their words follow and sort their words by pattern. Weekly routines (completed in school) are as follows:

Directions for Monday:
A NEW SORT
· You will receive your new sorts for the week. Look at the words. What sorts are you working with this week?
(Teacher will provide explicit instruction to each
group at some time during the week.)
· Highlight the beginning word for each sort.
· Color in the back of your sort with a crayon.
· Next, cut the words and place them in your plastic bag.
