East Brunswick opportunities to share with others ideas on how to 
live and work together to create a more effective American society.

No-Name Calling Week Website

Their objective is to create safety by raising awareness of the 
damaging impact of degrading language, then empowering community 
members with the knowledge that they have the abillity to positively 
impact the culture around them.  They offer the skills to challenge 
slurs and put-downs and stand up for civility.  They offer School 
Bias Prevention programs and training for grades 3-12 and have a

Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence

The National Day of Silence brings attention to anti-LGBT name-
calling, bullying and harassment in schools. This year�s event will 
be held in memory of Lawrence King, a California 8th-grader who was 
shot and killed Feb. 12 by a classmate because of his sexual 
orientation and gender expression. 
Hundreds of thousands of students will come together on April 25 to 
encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT 
behavior.
