of students and parents.

How much homework should my child have in science?

Science homework is assigned almost every night. It is given to
reinforce
work begun in class. Science homework should not take, on
average, more
than 15-20 minutes. Occasionally, work is given with a few days
to complete.
Students are encouraged to work a little each night instead of
waiting until
the last minute.

How often are quizzes and tests given?

Tests are usually worth about 100 points and are given at the end
of every
chapter. Timewise, that would be every 2-3 weeks. Quizzes are
given in
between to test proficiencies of smaller pieces of information.
I try to
give a quiz once every 5-7 school days.

Can my child make up homework that was not done?

The short answer is no. Homework is assigned to reinforce what
was done in
class. If students choose not to do the homework for whatever
reason and
the correct answers are given in class (usually the next day),
then re-done
(or forgotten) homework will not be accepted. IF STUDENTS ARE
ABSENT, they
should show me their work the day they return.
