1.
Labs & Activities (50%) – You will be responsible for
completing all labs and activities. You may occasionally be taking notes on
procedures and observations, making predictions and determining conclusions
during labs & investigations.
These writings, as well as reflections on your investigations will also
be part of your grade. All of this
contributes to determining your mastery of the content material.
2.
Quizzes & Tests (30%) –There will be approximately 2-3 major
tests per marking period. They
will include objective, short answer and essay questions. Study guides will usually be provided.
There will also be several quizzes throughout each marking period.
3.
Homework (20%) – Homework will be assigned regularly, but
not necessarily every night.
Credit for homework will be given based on adequate completion of the
assignment. If you have difficulty
with an assignment, you must see the teacher before homeroom on the day it is
due. Homework assignments will be verbally explained to the class and written
on the front board. As a backup,
they will also be posted on the teacher page of the school website. If you are absent, a reasonable amount
of extra time will be given to make up the homework, but you need to discuss it
with the teacher.
