Mrs. Barends Welcome to First Grade with Mrs. Barends! ![]() Back to school supplies:
Most of the school supplies you will need are provided however; I would like everyone to have the following items. v A backpack or book bag v A sturdy folder with two pockets (I will label this for you the first day. This should not be a trapper type notebook please. They do not fit in our mailboxes!) v A small sturdy pencil box about 8”x5”. (Not too big, we have lots to fit in our desks!) v A 1-inch, 3 ring “view” notebook binder- the kind with the plastic sleeve on the front cover. No paper need. We will label these too! (Larger binders do not fit into our desks.) v 3-4 black Paper Mate Flair markers – (Flair markers are not permanent!) v A highlighting marker v 3-4 low-odor dry erase markers and an old (clean) sock v 2 large gallon sized Zip-lock or similar baggies v A small notebook no larger than 4”x6” v 4-5 glue sticks (PLEASE let me know if this poses a financial burden for your family. I will be sure to get you the necessary items.) v Optional items: Ø “Colors in Motion” twist-up crayon sets available at Staples- these work great, even better than markers and last the whole year long when used properly! A class favorite in my room! Ø Your own scissors. (Don’t forget to label these things too!) Ø Post-it notes, any size for our class supplies If you wish to donate extras of the above items to our community supply, it would be greatly appreciated!
