Welcome Second Graders!
In January and February, the students prepare a biography report on a famous person. We use
"Kidspiration", which is a graphic web program. To prepare for the famous person biography, we
have the students do an autobiography, which includes facts that they feel are
important in describing themselves.
During the science units, research their favorite rainforest and ocean creatures
using the Sunburst Field Trip Series. After they have completed their research,
our Second Graders then put their much-practiced typing skills to work using Microsoft Word
Then, they can illustrate their report by drawing their ocean and rainforest animals in Paint or
Kidworks. Oh, the creatures you'll see!
