BEE Books

B.E.E. is an acronym for Bring Everything Everyday!

This 3-ring binder houses EVERYTHING students and parents need to keep
up-to-date with what is going on at school.

Gone are the days of wrinkled papers and lost information. Everything you
need is in one binder!

BEE books are important! They help students to establish good organizational
skills that will be necessary throughout their time in school. Therefore
students that lose their BEE books will have to pay $5.00 for a replacement book.

Bee books will be sent home every night. Please return them every school day!

The zippered pouch will house notes for the teacher and specific notes for
parents. It is also where money/checks for book orders, lunch, milk, and
field trips should be placed.

First Folder: Homework: Vocabulary/Spelling, Decodable Readers and Math

The left pocket will house math homework, which should be completed in PENCIL
only and returned to school on the very next day in that pocket. The right
pocket will contain your child's reading vocabulary word list and spelling
packet. These items can remain in the BEE so that they are easy to find for
daily practice at home. Spelling homework should be completed gradually
throughout the week and returned to school on FRIDAY. Please note that your
child should also spend approximately 10-15 minutes reading to you on a
nightly basis. Signatures for time spent reading will be collected on the
weekly spelling homework. Daily at-home practice is NECESSARY for success in
reading-writing-math! Your child will bring decodable reader stories home mid
week. It is important that your child read them to you several times
throughout the week. The stories should remain in your child's reading
treasure box when not in use to promote good organizational skills.

Second Folder: Papers Home/Back to School

This folder will house corrected papers, newsletters, permission slips, etc.
This pocket should be emptied nightly. Corrected papers should stay at home;
papers or forms needing to be returned should be put in the Papers Home/Back
to School pocket.
