Good News!

  • Students at Frenchtown Elementary School took on the challenge to fill the principal's trunk with canned goods and other food items donated to the Frenchtown Food Pantry. After a short time the trunk was overflowing and an additional car was needed.  The event held today, April 26, was sponsored and organized by the Frenchtown PTO as a way to help children understand and experience the concept of helping others in the community. Eighth grade students Sarah and Sophie are student council organizers who have helped on this project and other projects supporting the Frenchtown Food Pantry.  They have dedicated numerous community service hours toward helping this organization. • Student Council Good News:  A big thank you to the Frenchtown School community. Thanks to all of you, the Frenchtown Student Council raised $429.30 for the New Jersey Association of Student Council's state charity, Good Grief. This valuable foundation is a resource for grieving children and their families. Through a support center and workshops, they help children during a difficult time of their lives while offering support and guidance to the adults in their life as they cope with loss due to death.
  • Also, the Student Council performed 338 hours of community service this year. This dedication to school and community has earned the Student Council the Community Smile Award from the New Jersey Association of Student Councils. Congratulations to all of you!
  • The 5th and 6th grade Mad Readers participated in this year's North Hunterdon Regional
Reading Olympics, and brought home a 2nd place ribbon.  Way to go, Mad
    Readers! (below)
