Tell me more about this blog.
Our class will be writing responses to your reading each week. Students have the choice to write it in their reading notebook or use the class blog online at http://kidblog.org/MrsBarrysClass4/. This is a copy of the letter that went home. Each week, you will be responsible for a two paragraph blog about your independent reading book. Your blog is due on the day noted on your start up sheet. Your first paragraph should be a brief summary of what you have read so far. (Who did what? When, where and why?) The second paragraph should tell me your thoughts about your reading. This is your chance to give me your honest reaction to the way the story is going so far. Remember, you can’t be wrong in your responses so take some risks. Here are some sentence starters to inspire you:I wonder what this means…I really don’t understand this part…I really like/dislike this idea because…This character reminds me of myself because…This scene reminds me of something else that happened…This part is realistic/unrealistic because…I like/dislike this character because…This section makes me think about…The character I admire most is…You could also write about:What you wish could have happenedWhat you felt as you readWhat you noticed as you were readingI can’t wait to read all about your ideas!! Have fun with this and contact me if you have any questions or problems at Lbarry@ebnet.org.: Back to Top
