Mrs. Graham will be teaching Grades 1-5.

Mr. Braun is the traveling music teacher this year.

• Students will sing a variety of songs.
• Students will listen to and identify vocal and instrumental tone colors.
• Students will learn about composers and famous musical works.
• Students will play classroom percussion instruments.
• Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will learn to play the recorder.
• Students will explore beat, rhythm, melody, harmony and musical form.
• Students will read and write traditional and non-traditional musical notation.
• Students will improvise and learn to compose simple rhythmic and melodic compositions.
• Students will learn musical terms.
• Students will recognize and identify the instruments of the orchestra.
• Students will show creative movements, dance, dramatize, create sound effects, and play musical games.
  

CHORUS CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Chorus Club is a wonderful opportunity for students to sing together!.

Third, fourth, and fifth grade students may join.

Chorus Club rehearsals are every Thursday 8:15 - 9:10 a.m.

Check with Mrs. Graham or the district calendar for concert dates and times.

• All scheduled rehearsals are required.
• Please be prepared and on time.
• When a student does not attend a rehearsal, I assume he/she is absent.
• If a student decides not to continue for any reason, please send me a note signed by a parent.
• I appreciate your cooperation.
  

Chorus Club permission slips and registration forms are available in the music room (room 29).

There will be extra rehearsals scheduled before the Winter and Spring Concerts.
