· Read for 30 minutes and record on log –
· Word Work- Speed sort to increase speed of sorting words.
· Personal 5 words- syllable sheet.
· Writing Prompt #2- Due Monday December 21. Your story may be typed or handwritten as long as it is neat and I can read it. If you choose to write it please write it on lined notebook paper and only on one side. Tonight- just plan your story using the story map.
· Story Prompt: You are helping to build a sandcastle at the beach, as you begin digging you hit a hard surface and much to your surprise beneath the surface is the most incredible, unbelievable, extraordinary sight. What is it, how did it get there and how does it change your life? Write a story about your experience. Vary your sentences, use show not tell details, add dialogue and strong vocabulary.
· Read for 30 minutes and record on log.
· Vocabulary Word Wall- Use a thesaurus or an online thesaurus to find three synonyms for WALK. Use an index card and write the old word and your new words on one side. On the opposite side, write the definition of the new words and use all the new words in sentences that clearly show the words meaning.
· Writing Prompt #2- Write the beginning of the story
· Word work-: Write sentences for 10 of your words. 5 of these words must be from personal word list the other 5 from word sort words.
· Writing prompt #2- write the middle of the story
· Read for 30 minutes and record on log. Reading logs with summaries are due tomorrow.
· Word work: Study for test tomorrow
· Writing prompt #2- write the end of the story- due on Monday
· Read for 30 minutes each night and record on log.
· Writing Prompt #2 is due on Monday December 21st. No exceptions
