Do I need to bring my book to class everyday?
Great news! We have enough textbooks to maintain a set in the
classroom. Please leave your textbook at home so that you will
always have it there for homework.
Where/When can I get extra help?
-After school Tuesdays in Room 1612.
-Before and after school on other days by request - please give 2
days advance notice.
Do you hold a review sesson for tests and quizzes after school?
No. We will review before ALL tests and most quizzes in class.
After school help is available to assist you with any specific
questions or difficulties you may be having with the material.
What must I bring for extra help?
You must bring your questions and all math materials (binder,
notes, packets). Often, additional examples may be taken directly
from the textbook.
What is your homework policy?
Expect homework daily, with the exception of religious holidays.
You must DO math to LEARN math! Make every effort to complete
each assignment. Make sure you write in pencil and show all your
work. If you have difficulty, ask a family member, call your
math buddy, read the book, consult the book's website, or come
for extra help. Assignments should typically take about 20
minutes to complete. Homework is graded on EFFORT. You should
get 100% for this grade!
What is your grading policy?
The grading policy is set by the Mathematics Department as
follows:
45% Tests & major projects
30% Quizzes & minor projects
15% Classwork &Performance assessments
10% Homework
There is no extra-credit!
What do I do if I am absent?
If absent, students can find out the missed homework by
consulting the class website or calling a study buddy from
class. Students have one extra day for each day out to make up
the homework. Students should plan to come in during an extra
help session to make up missed quizzes/tests and to review missed
topics from class.
