It is a pleasure to introduce myself to you as your Spanish teacher this year!
I am originally from Georgia and went to college at Mercer University in
Macon, Georgia. There, I graduated cum laude with a double major in Spanish
and Political Science. From there, I went to the University of Georgia in
Athens, home of the Bulldogs, and completed my master's degree in Language
Education. I taught middle school for one year in Athens and then moved to New
Jersey in 2001. I have been at Hammarkskjold since that time and love it here.
Middle Schoolers are my favorite age group to teach and I am looking forward
to teaching you this year!
It is my goal to help you use the target language in a meaningful way. What I
mean by that is that learning the language is more than memorizing vocabulary
lists and numbers. It is most important that you can effectively communicate
in Spanish in basic survival situations as well as everyday social situations.
