Dear Parents & Students,
Welcome to Art Exploration! My name is Mrs. Data and I will
be your child's Art Exploration teacher this year. I am looking forward to
an exciting school year of teaching, learning, and growth. This year we will
focus on many famous artists from a variety of art periods throughout
history. We will also focus on cross-cultural themes, learning and
technology, and co-operative learning in the classroom, to attach meaning
and validity to your child's learning process.
I believe the best ideas are spawned from a creative and safe
environment, which is why it is important to follow the classroom guidelines
I have attached to this letter. Please read over these guidelines with your
child, to ensure that we work together to create a positive classroom
culture. By working together, we can cultivate a safe learning
environment where students feel free to express their thoughts and feelings
and take creative risks. It is my mission to develop not only you child's
art skills and knowledge, but to also help build their self esteem and
confidence,through art making and problem solving activities. Weekly
sketch book assignments will be assigned to the students to help develop
their drawing skills, which will be explained on the attached sheet.
To ensure a successful and happy year for you and your child, we
must keep the lines of communication open. Please fell free to contact me
at school until approximately 3:45 each day. If you leave your name and
