1. Arrive to class on time and have all appropriate materials and supplies ready for class when the bell rings (#2 pencil, art notebook & folder). 2. Have all homework ready and out on your desk to be collected, reviewed, or to be used as a tool during your studio period. 3. Respect the teacher, your peers, yourself, others ideas, equipment, and furnishings in the art room. a. Be aware of your workspace and others around you. b. Speak kindly to others. c. Listen to directions the first time they are given. d. Respect others' opinions, ideas and skill levels. e. Raise your hand when asking or answering a question. f. Listen when others are speaking. g. Only use art materials and tools the way that they are intended to be used. 4. Talk in a quiet voice with students in your area without getting out of your seat (socializing is allowed during work periods as long as students are working on their projects and staying on task). 5. Clean up after yourself. Clean your table and the floor around your table and any other workspace you used. Return supplies to their designated area neatly, and be sure to clean the appropriate supplies before putting them back (paintbrushes, clay tools, rulers,color pencils, etc.). 6. Observe all rules in the student handbook. Classroom Rewards: A weekly Class Rewards Chart will be posted on the classroom community bulletin board. For every week all students observe classroom guidelines as a class, a check will placed in that period’s weekly box. Once a class has received 10 checked boxes, they will be rewarded with a prize. Consequences: If students do not follow classroom rules, the consequences will be implemented as follows: First time: Warning Second time: Name noted and marked with a check Third Time: Detention and call home to parents Fourth time: Referral written and student referred to the office for appropriate consequences as stated in the student handbook. Grading Policy: 50% Studio Projects 35% Homework, Sketchbooks/Art Journals & Reflections, Test/Quiz Grades 15% Class Participation & Work Grades
