work together to make sure everyone starts the fourth quarter off on the
right foot.
SCHOLASTIC order forms have been given out again. All orders are due by
Monday, May 12. You may order online or by turning in the paper order form
and cash or a check.
Good luck on the NJASK everyone! Because of testing, there will be no
writing homework this week. (May 5-8)
I'd like to say GREAT JOB to everyone who presented their book reports
today. You all exceeded my expectations!
The House 1 Fairview trip is this week April 30-May 2. Students not going on
the trip were given
their room assignments during study and will make up work with the
substitute.
EXTRA CREDIT is now available on STUDY ISLAND. EC Assignments are posted and
are worth 1 extra
point each. Your points will be added to a homework grade.
BOOK REPORT presentations will be on April 28 and 29. Don't forget your
visual!
GUIDELINES: (2-4 minutes long)
1. summary of the book and paraphrase of an important section
2. main idea and two supporting details
3. explanation of visual aide
4. conclusion statement - why should people read this
There will be a BOOK REPORT HELP SESSION after school on Tuesday, April 15.
Bring your nonfiction
text and any questions you have about the project.
A NONFICTION BOOK REPORT has now been assigned. Reports should be finished
by April 18 and presentations will be the first two days after spring break -
April 28 and 29. Please see nonfiction book report assignment sheet for
specific guidelines.
We are now working on DESCRIPTIVE ESSAYS
If you still have not taken an accelerated reader test for the third
quarter, you need to choose a nonfiction book that is on the HMS accelerated
reader list.
Everyone should now have an ACCELERATED READER book either as the book they
are currently reading or as their back up book for the third quarter.
