Classroom Procedures

LOCKER TIME – You are permitted access to your lockers in the morning when you get to school, before lunch, during study and at the end of 8th period.  You should not go to your locker during the changing of classes.  If you forget something that you need for a class, report to that class and ask the teacher if you may return to your locker.

AGENDA – You are expected to record your daily and long-term class assignments in your student agenda.  Agendas must be brought to all classes.  It is your responsibility to keep up-to-date on all assignments.  Teachers may write notes for a parent signature in the agenda – therefore the agenda must go home and parents are asked to review it each night.  It is your responsibility to keep your agenda in good shape – do not rip out pages!!

CLASS PREPARATION – Each House 2 teacher will have an “I Forgot Book” which will be used to record your class preparation.  Any time you come to class without the necessary materials you will be expected to sign the “I Forgot Book.”  If you are unprepared it will have an effect on your quarter grade.

LEAVING THE CLASSROOM – If you need to leave the room during class, you must sign out.  You are asked to remain in the class during the first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes of the period.  You are responsible for any announcements made or class work completed while you are out of the classroom.  Only 1 boy and 1 girl may leave at a time

Study (Period 5) Procedures:

  • Once all students have reported to study, you will be allowed to go to your locker to gather items you would like to work on during the study period.
  • Students will go to their lockers using an odd/even schedule – odd locker numbers go first on a Day 1, even locker numbers go first on a Day 2.
  • Be as quiet as possible when you are at your locker during study – there will be other classes going on at this time.  This means do not talk loudly or slam your locker.
  • If you need to leave the room during study (bathroom, nurse, main office, guidance) you must sign out of the classroom and take the appropriate hall pass.  You may not be in the hallway without a pass.
If you wish to go to the Media Center you must have a green pass filled out by your study teacher – only 5 students are permitted from each study.  Be on time to study or you might not be able to leave.
