Hammarskjold Middle School
7th Grade ILA

Hello Everyone! I am Mrs. Painchaud and I am so excited to meet all of you.

A Little About Me:

I have been working at Hammarskjold Middle School for 6 years.  I taught 6th grade Language Arts here for 7 years, and will be teaching 7th grade for the second time this year.  I graduated from Rowan University and I also have a Masters in Reading and a certificate in Reading Specialty from Rutgers University.rutgers.gif

I am the oldest sibling and have two brothers and one sister.  My brother Charles works in Manhattan and is a graphic designer.  My sister Janine is a 5th grade Language Arts teacher in Carteret, NJ.  Finally, my youngest brother is a freshman at Pace University where he plays Lacrosse.

I also have a dog.  He is a yellow Labrador Retriever named Diesel.  He's a lot of work, and he sheds a giantic amount, but I love him.

Also, on June 6th, 2011, my husband and I welcomed a red-headed little girl.  My daughter's name is Mia.  She is the apple of my eye and is one of the best things that has ever happened in my life.  I thoroughly enjoy watching her grow and change every day.

More About Me:
I love to read and write.  I especially love Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga and favor the book over the movie
.  The Hunger Games series became my all time favorite.  I can read the series over and over again.  I cannot wait for the movie to come out. I can only hope that it lives up to my expectations,  I read anywhere from 10-20 books over the summer.  I even read in the movie theater, which really makes my husband angry.

I love to watch reality TV and the food network.  I also love to eat chocolate and drink Dunkin’ Donuts decaf French vanilla coffee.  I love to listen to music especially oldies.  Don’t be surprised if you walk into my classroom and you hear the Temptations or the Supremes playing on my iPod.

I got married in July of 2009 and changed my last name...  I was previously known as "Ms. Rini"!  I have known my husband since I was 15 years old and he is my best friend.  Together, we are die-hard New York Giants fans and he is slowly converting me into becoming a Mets fan.

A cool fact about me:  My last name is French?  Does anyone know what Painchaud translates to in English?

I remember Middle School  very well, so I hope that you all be the best you can be in this class and remember that everyday is a learning experience and a new beginning for you to do whatever you put your mind to. This was me in Middle School:
